What inspired the concept and birth of Bubu Bun?
My husband and kids are fans of my baking, they lived the buns so my husband convinced me to start a home-based bakery because every time I baked the buns people couldn’t stop raving about them and they seemed to be a hit.
How and when did it all come together?
Bubu Bun kicked off earlier this year and because it’s a home-based business it was easy to start as I was using my household appliances but now that it’s growing the demand has grown too.
Who is responsible for the daily running and maintenance of Bubu Bun?
I do all the baking, social media marketing and daily running of the business, while my husband (Zweli) oversees the logistics and delivery.
Have you always wanted to own your own business and why?
Oh yes, it’s always been in our conversation to own a business in the future and this is a dream come true. We are working on growing it and having a bakery with a coffee shop soon. Look out for that.
What advice would you give aspiring young entrepreneurs or just about anyone wanting to start their own business?
It’s not easy and you might find yourself wanting to give up because nothing seems to be working. Don’t give up on it, use that quiet time to research your products or services. Nothing is more rewarding when you know it’s going well because of your doing. It’s all for you! Give it you’re all and have faith in what you are doing. It takes time and patience. We are still learning, and we still have a long way to go.
